A Soyuz-2.1a rocket carrying the Progress MS-33 cargo spacecraft has launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The launch was the first following the restoration of launch pad No. 31/6, damaged in November last year.
The spacecraft is travelling on a two-day flight plan — docking with the Poisk module of the Russian ISS segment is scheduled for March 24 at 16:35 Moscow time.
The station will receive over 2.5 tonnes of supplies: 828 kg of fuel for refuelling, 619 kg of food, 420 kg of drinking water and 50 kg of oxygen to maintain the atmosphere.
The previous Soyuz-2.1a launch took place on November 27, 2025 — despite damage to the launch pad, the flight proceeded normally. On board were cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, Sergei Mikaev and NASA astronaut Christopher Williams.
